How the solar energy boom will make California the solar capital of the world
More than 70,000 solar energy jobs have been created in the state over the past six years, and the company that makes SolarCity has been tapped to supply them.
In this episode, we hear from SolarCity Chief Technology Officer Jon Cooper, who talks about how the company’s solar business has grown from a mere $3.3 million in the first half of the year to $2.6 billion in the second half of 2016.
He also discusses the company being selected to supply the California state grid with up to 70,00 gigawatts of solar power by 2021.
And he also talks about the challenges the company faces as it tries to grow its business and stay competitive with its competitors.
We’ll talk about the business and future of solar energy in California.
And we’ll also see some of the companies that SolarCity is competing with.
And as we get into the next few years, you can expect the conversation to be more about how solar energy is going to affect the economy, as well as how this will impact California’s energy infrastructure.
And so that’s what we’re going to be looking at.
